Dr. Laura M. Periman
MD, Seattle
Dr. Laura M. Periman, aka “The DryEyeMaster,” is a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgeon, and internationally recognized expert in ocular surface disease. With a background in molecular biology and inflammation research, she brings a scientific, root-cause approach to understanding and treating dry eye disease.
She is Founder and Director of Dry Eye Services and Clinical Research at Periman Eye Institute in Seattle. A global lecturer, researcher, author, and mentor, Dr. Periman is known for translating complex immunopathophysiology into practical insights that advance the understanding and treatment of ocular surface disease.@dryeyemaster

Dr. Paul Karpecki
OD, FAAO, Lexington
Dr. Paul M. Karpecki, OD, FAAO, is Director of Cornea and External Disease at the Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington, Kentucky, and an Associate Professor at the Kentucky College of Optometry. He has spent more than 30 years caring for people with diseases of the eye surface, dry eye in particular, including many patients living with Sjögren's.
Dr. Karpecki served on the treatment subcommittee of TFOS DEWS III, the international expert report that sets out how Dry Eye is defined and treated worldwide. He is also Chief Medical Editor of Review of Optometry, and has completed his fellowship in medical cornea and refractive surgery at the Hunkeler Eye Clinic in Kansas City.
